John's Story

It was pouring heavily,John, a poor peasant was standing under a shade waiting for the rain to stop. Towards the end of the road where eyes could reach,John noticed people pass by a car blaring the alert lights. They waited for a brief moment and then passed on.
This went on until John decided to move out from the shade and check out what was wrong. On moving closer to the car,he saw that there was an old lady seated inside. On inquiring, the lady told John that her car had broken down and  required help. She had failed trying to summon for help.
As luck would have it,John was a car mechanic. Though he was running late for home,Considering the lady's plight he immediately agreed to help her. The lady was very thankful to him, and offered him 100$ extra as a token of thanks. But John promptly refused saying that,"Someone did good to me ,when I was in need. Now the goodness is with me and I want to share it with you."
A few miles ahead, the  lady saw a coffee shop and decided to take a halt there, till the rains ceased. She entered the coffee house and ordered coffee and some snacks. While waiting for her order to arrive the old lady observed that Martha,a pregnant lady was the only one serving the customers. Despite of the late hours and given her condition. She greeted each of the customers with smile.
When Martha reached the old lady's table with her order, she saw a look of concern and pity in her eyes for herself.Serving her ,she explained that she was poor and had to work to make their ends meet.Besides, by doing that she would also partake of her husband's struggle to provide their baby a good future.
The old lady's heart went out to Martha and so she left 500$ as tip.Beneath the 500$ bill was a note saying,"Someone did good to me ,when I was in need. Now the goodness is with me and I want to share it with you. Please accept this." Martha was happy and thanked God for sending her help.
She left for home happily, knowing she need not work for the rest of the month. She wanted to tell her husband the good news. But he was already sleeping. So she switched of the lights, kissing him,'Good Night John'.
First of all, thanks for reading this story. It is a story which has always enthralled me since childhood. The moral is..., well I leave it to you to decide.
